Additional Information
The City of Tallahassee’s Department of Housing and Community Resilience will host community meetings to identify priority housing and community development needs, while also looking at barriers to fair housing. Input gathered from the meetings will be used in the development of the 2025 HUD Consolidated Plan. The Consolidated Plan is a five-year strategic plan that addresses the City’s overall housing and community development needs and outlines a strategy to address those needs. The City must submit the Consolidated Plan to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for use of federal grant funds. The meetings will also gather comments from the community to develop the 2025 SHIP Local Housing Assistance Plan which addresses the City’s use of its State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) funding.
In line with the City’s 2029 Strategic Plan, the City administers programs to preserve and grow the inventory of safe and affordable housing within the city limits and to help meet the needs of low- and moderate-income persons and neighborhoods. This work is accomplished through a variety of federal, state, and local resources, and partnerships.
